About Jim Tortorella
Jim Tortorella, president of Superior Canine Services, is a Certified Police K9 Trainer and is certified with his German Shepherd dog as a Certified Drug Detection Team.
Working with dogs is second-nature to Jim. His passion for large, working breed dogs dates to his teenage years. At age 16, Jim got his first Doberman Pinscher. He raised several Doberman Pinschers, a Labrador Retriever and several Mastiffs.
Always having well-trained and well-behaved pet dogs, he was so intrigued by the intelligence and abilities of working dogs, he felt it was time to move to the next step: professional working dogs.
Observing the widespread problems caused in our society by drugs in the workplace, drugs at home and drugs in classrooms, Jim founded Superior Canine Services, providing dogs as a tool to detect drugs and contraband.
A product of Chicago’s Northwest Side, Jim has been a resident of the North Shore for more than 15 years. His in-depth knowledge of life in both a city and affluent suburban environment makes him well positioned to provide canine drug detection services for private residences, educational institutions and businesses.
Prior to establishing Superior Canine Services, Jim owned and operated a remodeling and custom home building construction company for more than 17 years.
