The K-9 drug search teams at Superior Canine Services consist of a highly trained handler and a well-trained, non-threatening, passive response dog that interacts well with people. The company was founded by Jim Tortorella, a Certified Police K9 Trainer whose passion for working dogs began during his teen years and has continued to the present.
A drug-sniffing dog and its handler might conjure an image of an aggressive police dog and an iron-fisted officer carrying a heavy nightstick. Most police dogs are usually kept away from interacting with people because they can be very aggressive.
